On the food frontier it is revealed that despite spending £24bn of EU’s tax payers money(1/5 total EU budget) on climate intensive meat/dairy farms responsible for 12-17% of total GHG emissions, there has been NO decline in emissions since 2010. Morrison’s are first movers as they become the supermarket to ban plastic fruit packaging. 

Nutrition is called into question as an audit shows up the NHS as ¾ of food purchased in UK hospitals is unhealthy. 

The big guns in beauty, Estee Lauder announce their sustainable palm oil scheme. 

For fashion, it’s competition over collaboration in luxury as LVMH declines to join the industry’s climate initiative spearheaded by rival conglomerate Kering. The landscape also sees Prada drops fur as of its S/S 2020 collection.

This week, Nike released a free guide for sustainable design in collab with Central St Martins, a manual to be mainstay of the industry. St Martin’s pave the way in fashion education with the launch of the first MA in Bio Design.
